This rally is a unique opportunity for the progressive community to respond to the lies and disrespect that America has experienced at the hands of some Tea Party Members (the birthers, the deathers and others), in particular, the self proclaimed black conservative, Kenneth Gladney and his handlers.

Our goal is to get at least 100 - 300 people to the event. Our financial goal for this event and others is $30,000.00 to pay for medical expenses and any additional legal expenses

"I have had two reconstructive surgeries on my left shoulder that was dislocated. Initially I just needed to pay my deductable and co-pay for the first operation. I still have an oustanding balance. On the second reconstructive surgery, I did not have insurance and owe approximately $10,000. I have to pay $80 per visit to the therapist. At one ... See Morepoint I was going everyday, then twice per week and finally once per week. I haven't gone lately because I can't afford it. The last time Mr. Molens and I were with our attorney, Paul D' Agrosa, he said that he needed and additional $5,000 from both of us. That's why I'm raising $30,000.00 and I hope that will be enough." -Rev. Elston McCowan

Invite everyone you can who could possibly be able to show up.

always plenty of blame to go around

Of course there is always plenty of blame to go around when people are full of passion and let their tempers get the better of them, and the police have to use force and sometimes cross the line. Abuse should be reported and dealt with appropriately, and I believe it is.

no recent problems with the poice. good cops need a raise!

I, and my friends, started having a lot of problems with the local police immediately after I began to associate publicly with the McGowan campaign. For example, they had undercover cops and a drug sniffing dog all over the block, including the WashU Coop; they found nothing. There was also some apparent electronic surveillance, legal or extralegal) in the months leading up to the Rev. McGowan's alleged assault, allegedly by police). I never endorsed him but I did my best to publicize his campaign. Others known to me were physically assaulted, falsely arrested, and electronically harassed. Because we are all keeping good records and comparing notes, the truth is coming to light, and justice is being done. I must say, I have had no recent trouble with the local police (St Louis PD, University City PD, or Washington University PD). Quite the opposite, really. May that continue. Put bad cops in jail, and let's respect the honest cops who do their LEGITIMATE police duty.
