Please come celebrate the rebirth of our Coop Library, this Easter Sunday, 5-9pm, 6036 Pershing Avenue, St Louis, Missouri, 63112-1310. Please celebrate our third birthday, and the third birthday of our Coop Orchard. Please check out a book, and donate your books. Please come volunteer to help us expand our Cooperative Library Network in the years to come.

We will have a pot luck barbecue dinner. The grill will be hot at 6pm. Please come and go as you wish, and bring all your friends, family, and neighbors! The barbecue will be preceded by an Easter egg hunt organized by the WashU Coop "Perry House" residents, for neighborhood children. From 5-6pm the Cervantes Free University and Learning Cooperative/Community will have an Open House, to inaugurate new courses after Easter. What do YOU wish to learn? What do YOU have to teach?

On April 8, 2006, Coop Co-Founder Christine Whitney read from a book of poems ceremonially checked out to her by Coop Librarian Cara Johnson. In our event profile picture, she is reading WashU poet Howard Nemerov's "Bomb Scare in the Library":

"Police are in there suspecting every book,
An assignment that requires as I guess,
Great courage and a cheerful skepticism
And the fear of God which is the spring of wisdom.
May teacher and pupil profit from the lesson,
And learn to tremble before they crack a book."
