The Washington Universtiy Co-operative is looking for spring residents!!
GENERAL INFO
o The Co-op is in The Perry, an apartment building located in the City of St. Louis at 6021 Pershing, 63112. It is very close to campus, and even closer to the metrolink.
o The neighborhood is awesome. It just celebrated its centennial. It is filled with children, churchbells, and love. And there IS an ice cream man!
o Each apartment has three bedrooms and three roommates: one small room, one medium, and one large. Each apartment has its own kitchen, bathroom, and living room.
o the breakdown:
o small room: $327/mo
o med room: $398/mo
o large room: $420/mo
o + utilities - between $30 - $50 per month for the whole apartment, split between roommates
o Roommates will be decided upon acceptance, we have a variety of room sizes available. You will probably be living with current residents. Don’t worry; we are all cool.
o The basement has a common living space, kitchen with fridges, dining room with record player and kickass record collection, bathroom, surprise closet, laundry facilities.
o We have a wonderful yard with a garden, compost, raspberry bush, fire pit, and rope swing.
o We have potlucks every Thursday evening. woot!
o Each co-op member joins one of two committees:
o kitchen committee – plans meals and shops for food
o grounds committee – maintains building and grounds
o Each member does one chore woot! a week in addition to cooking and/or cleaning for communal meals several times a month
o Each member decides how many community meals per week they would like to eat (up to 4), each of which costs $2.75, paid in advance, at the beginning of the semester.
o There are small monthly dues that go towards building maintenance, kitchen and cleaning supplies, general upkeep, gardening.
o Mandatory weekly meetings are held, generally lasting under one hour.
